The meeting of business circles of the Republic of Belarus and the Irkutsk region of the Russian Federation, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia" as part of the visit to Minsk of the delegation of the Russian region, took place at the BelCCI.
The event was opened by the head of the Russian delegation – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Irkutsk Region, Marina Petrova, Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI, Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Director of the Department for Support of Entrepreneurship and Foreign Economic Activity of the CCI of Eastern Siberia, Ilya Bannikov.
Welcoming the delegation of the Irkutsk region, the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI emphasized that Belarus has much to offer Russian partners in various fields – in industry, agriculture, and the services sector. Mutual visits, B2B meetings and other congress and exhibition events with the participation of representatives of enterprises and organizations, according to him, are effective platforms for productive negotiations and searching for substantive proposals for cooperation. "I hope that the outcome of this meeting will be concrete agreements and contracts signed in the very near future," he noted.
In addition, Denis Meleshkin outlined plans for the participation of the BelCCI and Belarusian companies in the fifth Baikal International Partners Forum in Irkutsk this year, and also invited Russian business circles to attend major international exhibition events in Belarus, such as Belagro and TIBO.
Following the welcoming speeches, representatives of about 30 Belarusian and Irkutsk enterprises and organizations held direct negotiations. Businessmen discussed the possibilities of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of light industry, food production, mechanical engineering, logistics, and others.
