From April 2 to 4, a business delegation from the Brest Region visited the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg, led by P.A. Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
The purpose of the visit was to promote Belarusian exports, establish sustainable cooperation and trade and economic ties between businesses in the two regions, familiarise them with advanced technologies in mechanical engineering and shipbuilding, and exchange experiences in the creation of industrial and technological parks and industrial zones.
The Belarusian business delegation included leading dairy and meat producers, manufacturing companies in mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, electronics and instrument making, construction, industrial ventilation equipment, nonwovens, meat processing and road marking equipment, traffic management systems, and health resort services.
The visit's programme included a matchmaking session with entrepreneurs from the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg.
Opening the event, Igor Muravyov, Executive Director of the LRCCI, stated that the regional branches of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are the chamber's primary external partners. In 2025-2026, LRCCI delegations repeatedly visited leading Belarusian enterprises to seek business partners. In 2025, the chamber hosted four delegations from the Brest Region.
In his response, Mikhail Batsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, noted that by the end of 2025, trade turnover between the two regions had reached $133.3 million, an increase of 12.8% year-on-year. Exports totaled $71.2 million, and imports $62.1 million. Even more important is the long-term dynamics: over the past five years, mutual trade has tripled, exceeding $480 million.
The event was preceded by patient labour to select specialised companies for B2B negotiations.
Such platforms offer an opportunity to directly meet Belarusian manufacturers, discuss product supplies, cooperation, and promising joint projects.
The exchange included the signing of a cooperation agreement between the “Brest” FEZ Administration and the Leningrad Region Industrial Development Centre, a contract for the supply of meat products between OJSC “Brest Meat Packing Plant” and LLC “BMK Sever”, and two contracts for the supply of timber and reinforced concrete sleepers between OJSC “Spetszhelezobeton” and Russian companies JSC “NIK” and JSC “Nevsky Trade and Industrial Complex”.
